a family history and a quest for excellence in winemaking founded in 1896 in balavaud, the jean-rené germanier winery is one of the oldest in switzerland.now run by jean-rené germanier and his nephew gilles besse, who trained at changins, it embodies three generations of passion for winegrowing.pioneers in sustainable agriculture, they promote the alpine terroir of valais with demanding traditional winemaking techniques, led by oenologists richard and delphine riand.their work has been rewarded with more than 30 wines rated above 90 points by robert parker's wine advocate. A family history and a quest for excellence in winemaking urbain germanier the founder of the house in 1896 Urbain Germanier meeting roomour meeting room can accommodate up to approximately 20 people, depending on the configuration.it is equipped with a screen for various types of projection. Meeting room labyrinth this labyrinth is the cellar for our fendant wines.as lovers of chasselas and its incredible capacity for ageing, we have devoted a labyrinth to it, enabling us to travel back in time. Labyrinth the cellar   this is where the first barrels were located in 1896. this cellar was converted into a tasting room in 1993 when gilles besse joined the company. it was then renovated in 2023 by marie-antoinette gorret. it can seat around 30 people and is the ideal place to enjoy a convivial atmosphere, tasting and meals with friends and family. The Cellar cellar of mitis made from amigne grapes from the vétroz hillside, over-ripe on the vine and harvested in january, mitis is a sweet wine fermented in new barrels and aged for 24 months on its lees in accordance with the rules of the grain noble confidenciel charter since 1997.a dedicated space will soon be created. we look forward to seeing you there. Cellar of Mitis cellar of mirror   the first wine cellar of the house dedicated to cayas in 2012. it was designed by léopoldine and marie-antoinette gorret. here we have a collection of cayas vintages since 1995, the year it was first bottled. Cellar of Mirror white wine cellar built in 1994 and expanded in 2001.white wines are vinified here using vats equipped with a lees stirring system. White wine cellar cellar of light   conceived and created by léopoldine gorret in 2016. it houses cayas and its ‘even-numbered vintages’ as well as other single-vineyard wines such as chamaray.you can find up to 200 barrels here. Cellar of light red wine cellar built in 2016 for the vinification of red wines using a punching-down system. Red wine cellar cellar cathedral   this wine cellar was inaugurated in 2024. it was designed to pamper wines in barrels, reserve red and white wines, and to showcase old vintages and large formats. it was born from the imagination of joachim gorret.
